My Thoughts on my thoughts

So after going back through my blogs, I've concluded one thing. My THOUGHTS ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE!!!!!!!!

I think there are several reasons why.
The first and probably the biggest one is that I had a crazy schedule this semester.
I planned to do a blog on Glenn Beck, because I think the show is crazy fun, creative, and provides a different perpective then any other anchor, commentator, etc.
But for whatever reason my work schedule became this inconsistent thing and I found I was missing more episodes then I liked.

So then I started looking for other ways to still keep up with this blog.
Well I found his blog, his website, and I heard his radio program. And while I had talking points now, I still wasnt keeping up with the blog. (Again due to time) So then I just started the different sheets of notes I'd been taking on the different mediums but then another problem occured. The notes werent in order. So as I was creating the blog I was going through notes that weren't in order.

....I think all I can say at this point is this is why I don't keep a blog!!! Its definitely too time consuming. And hontestly my thoughts and critique of what Glenn Beck does or doesn't do.... really aren't for other people. They're just for my to rant..... and I can do that orally!

My Thoughts on Eric Massa

Ok so I'm sure by now you know where I stand when it comes to things effecting this country.
I'm very pro defense, and pro less government.
So it was very interesting to hear Eric Massa's rant about how the Democratic party was trying to get him thrown out of office because he didn't vote with the health care bill. (As left as he leans it was kinda a shocker) Then I was even more shocked to learn the congressman would be going on Glenn;s show to give his side of the story.

It was interesting for several reasons. 1) The Glenn Beck program isn't really a show for people to do interviews, and for Beck to listen to another side. 2)The program is really just a soap box really for whatever his talking points may be, whether its airing out information on Van Jones, or explaining how the progressive movement works.

He started the show off by saying pretty much those things. The show wasn't meant for interviews. He also stated that he was skeptical of doing the interview because he didn't really know what Massa was going to talk about and (in my opinion) he just didn't care.
So the interview was off. And after Massa started talking it became very obvious that Glenn Beck was clearly annoyed. From the audience perspective I know I wasnt to interested in what the congressman was saying. In fact, I felt his being on the show was just making a mockery of the whole situation he had gotten himself into with his aides.

After the hour eneded, Glenn Beck apologized to his audience for wasting thier time.
....And I must say that was the actually only interesting part. I say that because with all the programs I've watched and listend this was the first program where the host felt he had wastedthe audience's time and I don't know how many times I thought the segment was stupid and pointless. (O'Reilly and his culture warriors for starters.)

What I know About Glenn Beck

So I was going back through my blog and I realized that I never gave background information on Glenn Beck.

Well I'm not going to be the next biographer of Glenn Beck. I don't know when he was born, what his family life was like, if he went to school, the name of his wife or children.

But I've watched enough of his shows and read a couple of his books and I think the information I can take from those sources is this.

Glenn Beck is a recovered Alcoholic. There was no real "saw the light" moment. (Or at least not that I've read) I think what it was ultimately that made him do a 180 of his life was his faith.

Once he started tackling the overhaul of his life I think he used that has kind of his jumping point for his career. (Again I don't know for sure) I think he using his own "aha moment" and turn it to how the country needs to start looking at its "aha moments:"

During this time he was working at CNN. He also had written a book, and had a radio program. After the 2008 presidential election he moved to the Fox News Channel. And with no time at all he became a very bright star in the conservative movement.

The Glenn Beck program ares Monday through Friday at 5pm.
A lot of people think his show is nothing but theatrics. Honestly I think the reason behind why his show is so successful is because of the theatrics. I think that if you watch a couple of his shows you can see theatrics but throughout the theatrics I think (again personal opinion) that you can get a true feel for the passion he has when it comes to what he reports.

My Thoughts on Best of Beck Clip

So I had another idea on how to keep up with my blog. I decided that it would be interesting to blog about the unfairness Glenn Beck gets in the eyes of the media. I just recently finished a paper regarding media bias and I think it was while doing this paper that the idea came to me to. So I went onto youtube to see if every day people like Glenn or despise Glenn. (If people are positive videos then he must be doing something right. If there are a lot of videos that make fun of him then they don't like him. And they wouldn't like him based on what they hear from the media.)

Surprise surprise when I typed in Glenn Beck a series of negative videos were the first to pop up. It wasn't until I started typing in more key words other then just Glenn Beck I could find positive videos or even neutral videos (uh video clips from his shows, or interviews hes had)

Its very interesting what people can put together.

Facing the dilemma of not being able to watch Glenn Beck episodes because of my very hectic schedule. And when I was able to find a few hours away from either work, school or driving, I went onto Glenn Beck's web site to see if there was a link to see episodes from his show.

Well I didn't find any links to see old shows but I did notice a link for blogs.
The name of the blog is called Stu Blog.
This got me thinking maybe I could keep up with my blog by reading his blog.

Honestly I have no idea what the meaning behind Stublog is, but it seems kinda interesting. The tagline is the most poorly name blog on the internet. But its definitely catchy.

After reading several entries, I'm not sure who is actually keeping this blog.

In some entries, it seems as the person talking might be Glenn. But then in other entries, it seems like someone who works with Glenn is actually maintaining it for him.

Eh well maybe the blogs are another outlet to examine.
